Backing the "crazy" (again)

During the past few weeks, more and more people have been voicing their political views via blogs, Facebook, and emails.  I rarely get offended, but I do often roll my eyes.  The posts or emails are, unsurprisingly, unbalanced and rarely welcome discussion.  I think that's unfortunate.

My parents raised me to never discuss religion or politics.  Truthfully, while I don't want to fight or lose relationships over these things, I do think the subjects should be discussed respectfully.  Of course, that rarely happens, as evidenced by the debates and the hostile posts / emails popping up everywhere.  It's too bad.

Mike and I are not shy about sharing our views on our favorite candidate, who hasn't changed since the last presidential election, but we don't talk specifics unless asked.  We are rarely asked.  Apparently, people think our guy is crazy.  I'll gladly take crazy over the status quo.

Here's my contribution to the political posts of the past few weeks; however, if you wanna talk about it, feel free to post a comment, send an email, or give me a call.  I love a good discussion. *wink*

I have been skipping a lot of the political stuff on facebook. Even though I tend to agree with certain people's basic political ideas, I get really tired of the way they present them and the way they respond to other people's views. I really have enjoyed the few people I know who have been able to have a balanced, respectful discussion. It can be done... at least with the right people involved. And they don't all agree, so it really is about the people and the way they handle things rather than the political viewpoint.

I expect I could talk politics with you with no problem, other than it might get boring if we agreed too much.
